March Cross Canada Blog Hop

Welcome to our March blog hop where we are featuring Easter. We hope you will take the time to leave comments on our posts, as we love to get feedback from our viewers, whether it was something that you really liked or some new technique that was used that you would like to learn more about. By leaving us comments, we get to hear what you like, and what you want to see. Thank you. Now on to our hop!

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to follow us across Canada then please start at the beginning and join Michelle in Nova Scotia. If you came from Kristen's blog, then you are in the right place! If you get lost along the way, just return to Michelle's blog for the full list of bloggers.

This month, I decided to use the beautiful Penelope paper to create this cute Easter layout. The designs are from the Reflections Scrapbook Program on pages 31 (Bottom Border - Footnotes) and 107 (Quartet - Pinwheel). I used the general layout for them both but changed them up a wee bit.

The word Easter was cut in Cricut Design Space and is found on the CTMH Cricut Artbooking cartridge. (Did you know that the cartridge images on DS are shown in alphabetical order? Cool, huh??!) The little green flowers are also from Artbooking. Happiness and Spring are both from the Penelope Complements as are most of the other embellishments. The leaves are from our new Springtime Wishes Thincuts and matching stamp set! Love these!!! I stamped them in Pear first then taped the die over top using washi tape then put them through my Cuttlebug.

The glittery centers of these flowers are from the Penelope complements as well and worked perfectly here.

I added a few of the glittery butterflies from the Penelope complements as well for a little bling!

This little cluster is so cute! I popped the nest up with a pop dot and added a leaf underneath the whole thing for some added depth. The pink pennant is a piece of Pixie left over from the piece the Easter was cut from, and the silvery banner is once again from the Penelope Complements.

The Spring is from the complements as well, but I didn't want it to be flat on my page as it would be stuck to my photo mats and I do intend on adding photos at some point! Whenever I have something with a sticky back that I want to pop up, I dip it in baby powder or cornstarch first to get rid of the stickiness and then add my glue dots or foam tape. Works like a charm! Just make sure to wipe any excess first. I added thin bits of foam tape to the center of the letters in Spring so it is adhered between my photo mats, leaving the mats free for photos to be added later.

One more little cluster on the right hand page for continuity.

That's it for this month. I hope you have enjoyed our hop and have seen some Easter creations that have tweaked your creativity! I am the last hopper this month, but since it is a circular hop, you can return to Michelle in Nova Scotia and start all over again!

We hope to see you in April when our theme will be Spring is in the Air! That should be fun!
