Welcome to the October Cross Canada Blog Hop and our theme this month - Halloween! If you see something in one of our blogs that you would like to know more about or would like to purchase, please contact your local Close to my Heart Consultant.

We hope that you will take the time to leave comments on our posts, as we love to get feedback from our viewers, whether it is something that you like or some new technique you would like to learn more about. By leaving a comment, we get to hear what you like and what you would like to see. Thank you! Now, on with the hop!

If you just hopped onto my blog, you can start here as this is a circular hop, but if you want to hop across Canada, then start with Michelle in Nova Scotia. If you arrived here from Donna's blog, then you are in the right place, but if you get lost along the way, just return to Michelle's blog where you will find the complete list of hoppers.

We don't have kids at home any more, and we rarely get them come to our door on Halloween, but I still love the festivities! The building maintenance company where I work hands out candy and holds a pumpkin carving contest, and many people wear costumes. It is a lot of fun. Since it is only the middle of the month, I will be adding photos later.

My Cricut Explore Air was working full time for this one! I love Design Space as it gives me the ability to change sizes easily as well as weld pieces together to change their shape as I did with the spider web border. These were two 6" long pieces welded then duplicated three times. I cut two each of Whisper and Eggplant and overlapped them to give a shadow effect. The center stripe is from the Whimsy paper pack and cut at 6" X 12". The title is cut from Pear at 1.75", then I recut the D and O in Goldrush and added faces with my Black Touch Twin marker.

The spider was cut from green Glitter Paper at 3" and the web from the spider to its home is half of a length of Whisper twine. I poked a hole close to the spider and the web at the top and threaded the "web" through. It is adhered to the back with a couple of pieces of double sided tape at the back of the page.

The house was cut in black at 5" and again in Canary at 4.8". I also used Contour in Design Space to delete the windows in the Canary house, the trimmed around the Canary and overlapped the Black house, popped up with some 3-D Foam Tape. I cut a small piece of Saddle and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Woodgrain embossing folder to add a little texture to the door.

The two photo frames are cut from Goldrush paper at 5.5" X 7.5" and 4.5" X 4.5". The photo mats for the 2" X 2" photos are cut from the Pansy/Tangerine dotted paper at 2.5" X 2.5".

The spider's home in the top left corner is cut from Whisper at 5".

That's it for me this month. Next on the hop is Corinna of Corinna's Crafts. Stay tuned for our Cross Canada Hop next month when our theme will be Colour of the Year and our projects will feature the beautiful Sea Glass paper! See you then!

UPDATE:

Note that on the right page, I changed the layout of the photo and the house. Not sure which I like better - the first way or this one. I also added Stardust Glitter Glue to the web to give it a little extra bling. What do you think?
