Let's Celebrate Today

This month's blog hop highlights the Celebrate Today paper pack with its beautiful bright colours. In February, it seems we need bright colours to get us through the gloomy winter days.

If you got here from Brandi's blog, you are on the right path, but if you get lost along the way, just head to Michelle's blog where you will find the complete list of bloggers. As you hop through, please leave comments and let us know what you think of our artwork. We are all glad to help you with any questions you may have about the products used or any cool techniques.

It seems we always have something to celebrate in our house. With five kids, 12 grandkids and two great-grandbabes, there is a birthday nearly every month! Then there are about a dozen other celebrations during the year, including Valentine's Day, Mother's and Father's days, Easter, and Christmas to name a few.

A few days ago, I saw a video by Jacqueline Paech in Australia where she showed how to make an awesome card. I loved it and decided to use it to make a couple of cards for the hop this month.

I love the bee and dragonfly stamp and die sets we now have! I am not a bug fan but these are two that I love to watch! I sit under my maple tree in the summer just to watch the honey bees in the flowers (yes, maple trees have flowers). The dragonflies dart all over catching mosquitoes so I have no problem with them hanging around!

I coloured the bee with our Shin Han marker and added some Diamond Stickles over the body for a bit of bling. I love how it turned out! The flower is from the Celebrate Today sticker sheet. I sprinkled baby powder on the sticky side to get rid of the sticky first then used my ATG to put adhesive on only one half of it.

I used a sentiment from the Keep Your Head Up stamp that Close to my Heart made to help with the Australia bushfire relief effort. I have a few more projects I will be using this stamp set for - I love the heart! - but those are for another month. :-)

The supplies used are:
W1202 - Keep Your Head Up
D1653 - Happy Everything
Charcoal, Heather, and Bluebird inks
Sapphire, Pixie, and White daisy cardstock
Diamond Stickles
Silver Glitter Gems

That is it for me this month. Please leave a note as you hop through as we all love to hear your comments, whether it is to ask for information about the product used or to get help with a technique. Come back and join us next month for more great artwork.

Now head on over to Valerie's blog for some more Celebrate Today artwork.
