November Use Your Stash Blog Hop - Decor Items
This month, our hop theme is Home Decor and Close to my Heart has a number of beautiful items to use as a base. I chose the Magnetic Chalkboard (Z2006) for my project. So how did I choose to use this frame? I made a Countdown Calendar! So far it only for Christmas, but I will also make countdown themes for Valentine's Day, Easter, Summer Vacation, and Halloween. Maybe birthdays too. I already have plans for other calendars and will be working on them soon.
If you got here from Shirley's blog, where you will find the complete list of hoppers, you are on the right track. If you get lost along the way, just head back to Shirley and get going again.
It is only five more weeks until Christmas and all of the little ones will be looking forward to Santa's visit! It is so difficult for them to wait once December arrives and a countdown calendar really helps them to be patient.
I used the Yuletide Carol paper pack (X7187B) for this Christmas themed calendar. I cut a 4" piece from the bottom of the fireplace paper and then cut the swirl from the top portion.
I added a few Clear Sparkles (Bulk232) to the holly because it just looked to plain.
The sentiment if from the Frosted Card Workshop (D1562) and stamped in Cocoa, then again in Ruby and New England Ivy Exclusive Inks. I then cut out the DAYS and MERRY and popped them up with foam tape.
I added a strip of Gold Glitter Trim (Z1985) to the top of the Yuletide Carol paper and then some Red Glitz Glitter Gel (Z1484) to the toes of the red striped socks.
The numbers were all stamped with the Handwritten Print Alphabet stamp set (E1030) using Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder (Z668 - this is the old CTMH embossing powder). The words on the black cardstock are stamped with White Daisy Pigment Ink (Z2163).
That's it for this month. Next on the list is Katy's blog and some more beautiful artwork.
